NLLTL Adventure Cam Vol. 21 // Kyle Thornhill

I have this urge. This sudden desire to be in Yosemite. It’s with me all the time. The giant granite walls, names like ‘Half Dome’, ‘El Capitan’, and ‘Cathedral Rocks’ keep calling my name. When I am away from Yosemite it’s all I can think about. John Muir said it best when he said “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity.” Yosemite is my home.

I’m lucky enough to have a solid group of friends who enjoy adventures and riding bikes. Emily and Gene without hesitation agreed to come on this trip with me. We packed our car early Friday morning and headed to spend the next 3 days sleeping on the valley floor. This was my 6th time to Yosemite this year, but this was the most consecutive days I have been able to spend in the park in a row in about 10 years.

We spent the next few days riding bikes, hiking trails that were decommissioned in the 1970’s, and catching sunsets atop Glacier Point. Oh, and we also may have polished off a couple of 12 packs. These pictures cover just a fraction of what has turned out to be the best trip I’ve ever taken to Yosemite.

Hope you guys enjoy!
