Scene Report // JP Bevins // 2013 NY Bike Jumble

As the NY Bike Jumble quickly approaches(TOMORROW!), I decided to rifle through some old hard drives and find a roll and a half of film from the Jumble I shot years ago in 2013. A lot of these photos have barely seen the light of day, but as a set, deserve some time on your screen. Please have a dig through this set, as if you’re digging through that swap meet wine crate seeking some NOS ‘storage patina’d’ gem.

The jumble is New York’s only bicycle flea market, and you can find almost anything bike related, vintage, kooky, and sought after. Harry Schwartzman and Isaac Schell put on the Jumble and their personal collections are something to be sought after. Always pulling some of the sickest gear out of their own woodwork.

If you have some time this weekend, and are in the New York area, please take a few hours Saturday, swing through, meet some of the kookiest in the NY cycling community, and take a bunch of beautiful photos of this side of the community.

Check out the Jumble’s Instagram for more news.

This Saturday from 10am to 4pm, 5th Ave and 4th St in Park Slope, Brooklyn!

Hope to see you there!
