Amgen Tour of California // Stage 3: Mt. Diablo

On Tuesday May 13, 2014, I took the BART out to Walnut Creek and rode my bike up Mount Diablo to catch the third stage of the Amgen Tour of California.  I recognized some familiar faces near the Rapha Mobile Cycle Club at the Juniper Campground and decided to hang around there following a short hike to the summit.  Shooting photos at a pro bike race is a bit of a let down to me in that I am not able to take in much of the race first hand.  Instead, I find myself preoccupied with framing, focusing, and snapping away.  On the plus side, it’s interesting to flip through the photos afterwards to take in the racers’ expressions with 2.5K to go after over 100 miles of racing in the California heat.
